Enough for a channel

The first sighting of the word 'antiques' in the Radio Times came in 1924, announcing a talk by an uncredited speaker on 2BD from Aberdeen, in a two and a half hour magazine show which also featured The Wireless Quartette and entertainer A.M. Shinnie (a station assistant, also known as 'Uncle Sandy'.

As the BBC prepares to make more choices in the output in can sustain, this week BBC1 launched The Travelling Auctioneers. It sits on the iPlayer with The Antiques Roadshow, The Antiques Road Trip, The Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Flog It, Bargain Hunt and The Bidding Room. Not far away is The Repair Shop and Flipping Profit.  The only joy I've had in researching this - an 'antiques' search on iPlayer also produces John Simpson's Unspun World.
