Whilst the BBC's Editorial Guidelines team try to get inside Martine Croxall's head over her intro to a paper review made meaningless by the withdrawal of Boris Johnson from the Tory re-leadership campaign, the suggestion that she has in some way been suspended is worrying.
When Emily Maitlis' opening to Newsnight was under investigation, Emily asked for the next night off. I can't remember a presenter being told to stay home like this for an editorial investigation; Jeremy Clarkson was suspended for a fracas with an assistant producer.
