At the helm....

The poop deck is filling up at BBC Radio Wales. Having just announced Carolyn Hitt as 'Editor of BBC Radio Wales and Sport', it now seems she requires an Executive Editor, Radio Wales to actually run the station.  Under the previous structure, there was one editor, Colin Paterson.  The poop deck still also has a place for Jeremy Grange, Senior Producer Commissioning (based in North Wales). Above him is BBC Wales' Head of Commissioning, Nick Andrews. Also taking a managerial interest in Radio Wales' content - Delyth Isaac, Head of News and Current Affairs.

Radio Wales is a station that can afford to pay part of Jason Mohammed's £285k salary, for three shows a week. Other presenters likely to have negotiated through agents include Wynne Evans, Carol Vorderman and H from Steps.

  • The BBC Annual Report discloses that Radio Wales came third in the pan-BBC chart of minutes of promotional material broadcast in daytime hours over a year -  63.2 hours. In second place, BBC1, and in first place, Radio Cymru, at 67.6 hours.
