Piers Morgan Uncensored reached an average of just 24,000 last night, which looks like a new low. His 10-minute Brain Dump was followed by hard-to-get-Times columnist Danny Finkelstein, with six minutes on the future of Boris Johnson; 12 minutes' 'exclusive' with the not-entirely-reclusive Rupert Everett on cancel stuff; a daytime tv type interview with a female fisherman, at 5 minutes; and an 8 minute discussion on how the Royals are handling Great Britain's colonial past.
Guido Fawkes suggests a format re-think is already underway. Piers, presenter/editor/production company owner, is probably in continuous puzzled dialogue with his chosen producers, Winnie Dunbar Nelson and Ben Briscoe. Why, he must say, are only 0.3% of my 7.9m Twitter followers tuning in ? How brave, then, are the production team ?
