Bristol University graduate Charlotte Moore has turned to Bristol University graduate Kate Phillips as her de facto Number 2, after another prolonged period of BBC recruitment contortions.
Eight days ago, it emerged that the hunt for a direct replacement for Patrick Holland in his role as Director of Factual, Arts & Classical Music had ended without result. One presumes that Charlotte didn't find an external talent of sufficient standing, and that, perhaps, Kate had been a bit miffed at not being just given the job.
So now Kate emerges as Director of Unscripted, and lo !, commissioners working in Factual, Arts and Classical Music will have to report to her. The role of Director of Entertainment will close. So that's all good, then....
