Distance learning

Socially-distanced Strictly opened to an average audience of 8.6 million according to the overnight ratings, which represented a 42.2% share of the available audience. In 2019, the opener started on 7.8m, a 44.7% share.  

So the Tiers really helped. By my calculations, around 4m more of us were stuck in front of the box compared with 2019.
