BBC Director of News Fran Unsworth has told staff that BBC Global News Ltd has turned a profit, of £2m. I can't find the full financial report, and last year's figures were difficult to understand, because of benefits from absorbing bbc.com, which brought in close to £35m of digital advertising fees.
One figure from last year - salary and pension costs were £17m, for a staff of 187. Roughly an average of £90k per employee.
