Next week sees publication of the delayed BBC Annual Report for 2019/20. The newspapers will be all over top talent salaries, but there may also be some questions about headcount, for this organisation-apparently-starved-of-cash.
Keeping an eye on these matters is the BBC Board Remuneration Committee, featuring the intense scrutiny of non-execs Nicholas Serota, Steve Morrison and Tanni Grey-Thompson. Their most recently published minutes, from November last year: "In discussion, Directors noted that there had been a number of headcount reduction programmes over recent years and these had delivered well".
