Over promoted

Who signed off the latest tv ads promoting BBC Sounds ? Kerris Bright ? James Purnell ?

They're clearly driven by the push for 'yoof'; but I would argue the timing is more than poor. The ad clusters the social insights of Gemma Collins (The Gemma Collins Love Lounge), the scientific thinking of Scarlett Moffatt (The Moon Landing Was Faked), the world class wit and adult humour of Jamie and Spencer (Celeb Guest Battle), the hot gossip of Pilar and Joanna (Reality Tea:"Heads up, guys. If swearing is not for you, then the Reality Tea is definitely not your cup of tea") and more.

On Twitter, Dara O'Briain temporarily mused about BBC funding options that support Scarlett Moffatt's worldview, believing his own Stargazing Live might not be coming back.

A previous DG had the right idea. When the BBC is under funding pressure, go nap on Shakespeare revivals, children's classics and Attenborough. Especially in trails.
