Not for everyone

Only four days to find out what Lord Hall really thinks. He's opening the (online) Edinburgh TV Festival on Monday.

We're told he'll reflect on diversity, the role of news in PSB, funding and how to stay relevant in an SVOD world, and will give his take on the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead for the UK TV industry.

And, although the Festival is sponsored by largely-free Youtube and totally free Freeview, you have to pay for a pass to watch the licence-fee-funded Lord, as the Festival's FAQs make clear.

Q Will all Edinburgh TV Digital Festival 2020 sessions be available to view for free on YouTube after the Festival?

A No. The only way to view all sessions in 2020 is to buy a pass, and view live August 24-27 on our platform. On-demand catch-up functionality will be added the following week for registered delegates only.
