BBC DG-incumbent Tim Davie has asked his finance man Tom Fussell to take over as interim leader of BBC Studios. According to Variety, neither Fussell nor Paul Dempsey, President of Global Distribution, will be applying for the full-time gig as CEO.
Deadline thinks Wayne Garvie at Sony Pictures International or Sophie Turner-Laing, recently departed from Endemol Shine, might be candidates.
Behind Fussell, the excellent Sonia Magris steps up to cover the finance function. (Disclosure: Sonia helped me and Tim Locke buy a new digital audio editor for BBC Radio News and Current Affairs back in 2003).
