Early risers

BBC Breakfast can probably claim to 'own' Captain Tom Moore, and on his birthday, Thursday, the audience was there for them.

The programme averaged 1.6m viewers according to the overnight figures, representing a 44.5% share of the available audience. Over at GMB, where Piers now 'does' Thursdays, the average was 0.8m - 23.3% share.

Elsewhere in News, it seems, with time on our hands, more people are getting up earlier. The 6.00-7.00 hour on Today, Radio 4, is doing well, and the BBC 1 O'Clock News, with barely any resources, is creeping up on the 10 O'Clock flagship bulletin.
