The leaking of cuts at BBC News, scheduled for announcement on Wednesday, is becoming embarrassing. Last week Victoria Derbyshire learned that her BBC News/BBC2 show was being axed through leaks; a day later, BBC News boss Fran Unsworth confirmed it. At the weekend, the Mail said reporters on Today and World At One were for the chop - will that be confirmed before Wednesday - or does it matter only when you've offended a star ?
Meanwhile former World At One/Today reporter Manveen Rana, multi-award winning for her series tracking a family fleeing Syria over five weeks (and 20 reports) is off to one branch of Murdochery - a daily podcast from The Times. It will presumably also be part of a new Times Radio station, promised for DAB in the spring.
