Maybe Dominic Cummings should be DG. At least he's looking under the lid of all government departments, and contemplating a broader approach to currently-silo-ed ministries, who see their worth only in the size of the budget they can secure.
I wrote yesterday about chunky salami slicing to come at the BBC. I don't think, now, the slicer will be much in use; whole big salami sausages, and I don't mean those measly peperami things, will be taken from the display counters of News, Content, and Nations and Regions. The Victoria Derbyshire debacle will look like a minor reduction in a plastic pot of Nocellara olives.
Meanwhile, there are currently 75 BBC job vacancies with software responsibilities, many of them for multiple posts. Is anyone checking that content is still king ?
