Kenny Lynch RIP

Kenny Lynch first entered the Rogers' frame of vision in late 1962 with his cover of Up On The Roof (written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin). Lynch took it slightly slower (116bpm) than the Drifters' original (122bpm).

Kenny plugged away at songwriting, not always with enormous chart success, but getting plenty of album tracks. In 1965 he worked with Mort Shuman, and they produced

"What Am I To You ?" Kenny Lynch
"Follow Me" The Drifters
"Sha-la-la-la-Lee" The Small Faces
"Love's Just a Broken Heart" Cilla Black
"What Good Am I" Cilla Black

He had another spell with Mort in 1969....

"Forget Him" Cilla Black
"I'm a Young Boy" Paul Jones

Here's some other songs where he gets a composer credit.

"He's Got Something" Dusty Springfield
"Don't Make the Same Mistake" Johnny Kidd and The Pirates
"Long Dark Road" The Hollies
"I'm Not Alone Anymore" Cilla Black
"You'd Better Believe It" The Small Faces
"Leave My Girl Alone" The Everly Brothers
"Hard to Say Goodnight" Carole Deene
"Only One" Shirley and Johnny
"I'm not that sort of a girl" Kenny with Barbara Windsor and Harry Fowler
"Strolling Blues" Kenny Lynch
"It's Gotta Last Forever" Billy J Kramer and The Dakotas
"Don't Stop Now" The Kittens
