Ding dong

It's gloves off time for boxing-loving Instagram pin-up boy Huw Edwards. The BBC's lead anchor has been riled by a number of tweets about news bias, and taken the unusual step of self-publishing a long article on the cv-based website Linkedin.

This is no #instasmile #instawellbeing stuff, nor the Uncle Huw familiar to pupils through BBC School Report. He describes a newsroom of opinionated people, having rows, but united in their pursuit of even-handed news coverage. His article would have paid for a decent family Christmas with publication in national newspapers. One presumes he's cleared it at the top.

The most recent irritant for Huw has been @markcurtis30, a former Research Fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), a former Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde and Visiting Research Fellow at the Institut Francais des Relations Internationales, Paris and the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Auswartige Politik, Bonn. He edits Declassified UK, a series of articles about foreign policy and spooks now hosted on the South African-based website, Daily Maverick.
