First task for anyone in a brand new role at the BBC ? Create a job for a deputy.
Thus the new Controller BBC Sounds, Jonathan Wall, is looking for a Head of Curation. Apparently, despite all that data-gathering and the utterly-immensely-transformational-personalisation opportunities thereby afforded, someone needs to decide what goes on the "front page".
"We are looking for a world class Head of Curation to showcase our audio content on BBC Sounds. This role is central to the success of BBC Sounds and will set the editorial strategy for curation so that our audience is at the heart of our decision-making and gets the best possible offer on BBC Sounds.
"You will work closely with the Controller on the strategy and approach to aggregating content from many parts of the BBC. You will work with digital product teams to define how content is presented to audiences on BBC Sounds. You will recruit and lead a team to deliver editorial curation on Sounds, both app and website.
"You will also lead our editorial plans to showcase great podcasts made by others - as part of a major future project."
Closes today; based Salford.
