A fast no

The BBC habitually takes its time responding to Freedom of Information enquiries - not usually late, but still using up many of the 20 working days allowed by law to respond.

So here's some pretty fast work - a two-day turn around. Is someone clearing the decks for the Election aftermath, or hoping for a much smaller in-tray by the time Christmas holidays arrive ?

Q: “Please could I request the first name and surname of the senior Conservative Party source cited by Laura Kuenssberg on her official twitter, covered by your editorial guidelines, in relation to her story of Matt Hancock’s specialist advisor being punched? This seems in the public interest, in keeping with public service and in the public interest.”

A: "The information you have requested is excluded from the Act because if held it would be held for the purposes of ‘journalism, art or literature.’ The BBC is therefore not obliged to provide this information to you and will not be doing so on this occasion. "
