I'm grateful to readers at the BBC for sorting out the right link to the 20th June meeting of the BBC Board. It turns out to have been quite an expensive meeting, with 22 execs, non-execs and senior managers making the journey to Pacific Quay in Glasgow, along with three suits from the NAO.
On making sure that the right over 75s get free licence fees from June 2020, it's noted that TV Licensing "would operate a self-verification system to determine eligibility for the concession"; that's going to be exciting.
The meeting signed off the annual accounts, audit, gender pay gap report, Britbox, Elf and Safety and more.
I'm formally awarding a prize to the writer of this minute. An assemblage of words with the look of meaning, but yet defiantly meaningless. A special skill. Please make yourself known.
It was agreed that the Executive should bring a framework approach to developing a refreshed audience strategy to the next meeting. This would enable the Board to engage fully in contributing to a strategic response to rapid change in audience behaviour within the context of the 2020/21 Budget.
