Congratulations to Richard Knight, for many years supplier of factual programmes to R4's commissioner Mohit Bakaya, and now elevated to Controller Mo's side as factual commissioner.
Richard (Taunton School and Cardiff University) has worked on Today, Analysis, More or Less, The Inquiry, The Corrections, and most recently edited podcasts such as Fatwa and The Tunnel.
He arrives as Mohit has decided to re-commission The Food Programme from the Radio 4 team that make the Food Programme. A minor ho-ha was brewing amongst fans about this exercise - The Food Programme may be a Radio 4 stalwart, starting back in 1979, but if you were looking for a show on the network that needed re-invention, re-imagination or any other re-ing, you wouldn't start there.
We await news on the future production of a show about media, which may or may not be called The Media Show.
