Oh dear. Yet another futile attempt to bring together 6,000 BBC journalists to work as one.
Auntie is looking for an Executive Product Manager, Authoring.
"What does the future of authoring at the BBC look like? We’re investing in structured and semantic storytelling, bring true multi-platform object-based composition to our written output for the first time. But this gives us key editorial considerations: what does the workflow look like? How do we integrate specialist tooling for maps, charts and new kinds of content? How do editors work in a way agnostic to their output platforms? Can we provide tooling to bring together disparate editorial teams working in specialist content areas? How do we evolve our current workflows into one that is ready for the challenges of a personalised BBC?
Answering these questions and more like them is the task of the Executive Product Manager for Authoring."
My worry is that, if these are the questions, who's the person asking them ? Engineer or journalist ?
