How many BBC execs will make it to Glastonbury, and will we ever know ?

Top level responsibility for coverage used to rest with Bob Shennan, with his Controller of Music hat. That vacancy has yet to be filled, as James Purnell navel-gazes over the composition of his future Cabinet  Radio & Education Board. He also needs a Controller BBC Sounds and a Controller Radio 4. (Are these parallel jobs, or does one outrank the other ?). As a champion of diversity, inclusion and strategy, James will be looking to create a balanced scorecard that can support him to challenge for the DG vacancy in 2022/3.

Taking the Glasto lead this year is Head of Music James Stirling, who is likely to be a candidate for advancement. Will he have the pleasure of leading Mr Purnell through the fields to pat the backs of BBC staff ?
