And then, four days later, came a second public response, this time to complaints about the performance of Emily Maitlis. According to The Sun, the first version included the line "her style may not be to everyone’s taste”; this has now gone - but some faint praise remains: "We highly regard Emily as one of our regular presenters, she is extremely experienced and well versed with dealing with politicians. We consider that she did a good job during this programme."
The programme's hands-on executive producer was combative newsgathering boss, Jonathan Munro.
