BBC Studios has lost a big name - Ann Sarnoff, who's been in charge of the former Worldwide operations in North America, is a surprise choice by Warner Brothers as their new CEO.

Sarnoff, nee Misiaszek, 57 (BSc.Georgetown University, MBA Harvard Business School) joined the BBC in 2010, and is currently also an independent director for PayPal, and co-chairs a Digital Task Force for New York Public Radio.  She met husband Richard at Harvard; he's currently with US private equity group KKR (formerly known as Kohlberg Kravis Roberts).

BBC Studios CEO Tim Davie said “She has grown our core business as well as driving significant innovation, including the successful creation of BritBox, the growth of BBC America alongside our partner AMCN, the launch of new channels like BBC Earth in Canada, and major new content and production deals."
