Chart news

Another leak from the BBC's Annual Report for 2018/19, this time in the Sunday Times. The list of the ten highest-paid presenters for the year (not including sums paid through BBC Studios to independent companies) for the first time includes three women - Claudia Winkleman, Zoe Ball and Vanessa Feltz.

We're told that John Humphrys, Nicky Campbell, Nick Grimshaw and Jeremy Vine have dropped out of the top ten. This could have happened either by a reduction in salary or a reduction in BBC work. Humphrys propped up the ten last year, on between £400k and £410k. Radio 1 Breakfast host Nick Grimshaw was on the same scale as Humphrys but is clearly getting less for the less onerous Drivetime shift. Andrew Marr joins the list - I'm guessing without a change in salary.

I'm guessing the new top ten runs:

Lineker
Evans (reckon on £1.2m for nine months work)
Ball
Norton
Wright
Edwards
Shearer
Winkleman
Marr
Feltz
