Are there more important things to talk about ? Labour is using three hours today to test the Conservatives' commitment to free tv licences for the Over-75s.
The debate will be led by Labour deputy leader Tom Watson, but others lined up to speak include Jeremy Corbyn, Nick Brown and Kevin Brennan; Sir Vince Cable for the Libdems; and Ian Blackford and Hannah Bardell for the SNP.
The motion: this House calls on the Government to honour the Conservative party’s 2017 manifesto promise to maintain free TV licences for the over-75s for the duration of this Parliament by ensuring sufficient funding to do so and, should the BBC propose changes to the concession, to ensure that the proposed changes are subject to parliamentary consent.
