One of the satisfactions of night shifts at BBC News is looking at how stories might best be placed in a running order, with more than the usual time to think. I was struck how three stories in the Radio 4/Today 0730 summary this morning were unfortunately separated by chaff.
They were the Institute for Fiscal Studies launching an inquiry into inequality and its threat to democracy; the National Crime Agency asking for double money to tackle 'chronic and corrosive' organised crime; and the DCMS Select Committee calling for re-investment in sport and culture for schools and young people.
