A good start to 2019 for the key radio news programmes on Radio 4. Today was up 1% year-on-year; Sarah Montague's tenure at the World at One is up 5% year-on-year. And replacing Eddie Mair with Evan Davis hasn't been cataclysmic - the audience is largely unchanged year on year.
But Eddie's doing well at LBC, with figures up 11% year on year, to an average 737k.
Is this news listening a continuing Brexit Bonus ? At Radio 5Live, the Breakfast audience is up marginally (35k) year on year, but the station as whole is up 5% to 5.4m - its highest figure since December 2017. TalkSPORT is up 3% year on year - so football may be a driver.
TalkRADIO has an impressive reach increase - 7%, but it's from a low base, to 339k. It's a business case News UK may yet review....
