The ad for the new BBC role of Head of Workforce Diversity and Inclusion is out. It asks "Are you the right candidate ?". If you can parse or understand the guff that follows (below), you'll probably realise that you're not.
"You will bring deep knowledge and insight in the area of diversity and inclusion including current trends and future insights and their contribution to business success combined with credible expert with the ability to influence, evidenced through delivery and up to date knowledge.
We are seeking an individual who has substantial experience operating in a complex organisation, of developing and implementing strategy, frameworks, tools and policies in the area of diversity, disability support and access that have a visible impact on organisational success.
Proven experience of providing strategic advice, consultancy to influence key decision–making and outcomes at senior level you will have the ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels within an organisation. Importantly you will have ability to interrogate and analyse data to shape insight and be at ease with data and analytics to demonstrate the impact and return on investment.
You will have experience of building credible networks and partnerships have experience of driving change in the area of diversity and equality that has a positive impact on business outcomes. "
