I went to bed angry and wake up angrier. The BBC News Online headline is "Brexit Party dominates". The share of vote for this single-issue organisation is (at 0700) 31.6%. The vote for UKIP is 3.3%. Total 34.9%. The share of vote for parties explicitly against a no-deal Brexit and pushing for a second referendum - Libdems, Green, Change, SNP, and Plaid is 40.4%.
Two parties who cannot decide what they want to do - Labour and Conservatives - 23.2%. Leaving out these two, UKIP/Brexit got 5.8m to the polling booths, and the clearly-Remain parties 6.7m.
If you're looking for momentum, Brexit/UKIP put on 1.4m votes compared with the 2014 Euros; the clearly-Remain parties added 3.8m.
