I'm sure there's an obvious answer as to why this is daft. If we extend the deadline a couple of months, couldn't we use the European elections on 23rd May as a referendum, with each candidate who wishes to participate selecting from both a party tag, and six words or so on their favoured way forward, e.g. Fully Remain through to Completely Out. Proportional representation, too.
