Those seeking an uplifting start to the week might consider whizzing along to the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery on Monday. There former BBC DG and Lay Canon Mark Byford will speak from 1pm on "The Annunciation: A Pilgrim's Quest".
It's all free, supported by the John Armitage Charitable Trust. It's possible John and Mark were contemporaries at Lincoln School.
