Interpretative dance

BBC Arts supremo Jonty Claypole tells the Guardian: "It feels like the future. In tackling some of the inequalities that still exist around the arts, you can do far worse than look at the way dance is merging traditional notions of high art and popular art, and attracting mixed, diverse, multi-generational audiences. Often you go to dance events, and you feel this is where we need to be going as a nation. That’s what I find exciting. Viewing figures aren’t everything but it there wasn’t an audience we wouldn’t be doing it."

On Monday's Ten, Huw Edwards will lead Katya and Laura in a pas de trois, "Meaningful Vote Four", to "Please Me" by Cardi B and Bruno Mars, choreographed by Kamal Ahmed.
