Lower case

Constant vigilance is the watchword when it comes to the reputation of Alan Yentob. Here's a correction in yesterday's Mail.

A Hardcastle diary item on July 19 stated that BBC presenter Alan Yentob earns a 'publicly-funded' salary of £250,000.

In fact, while Mr Yentob fell within the £200,000–250,000 bracket in the BBC's 2017 pay disclosure, his salary is now paid through the corporation's commercial production unit, BBC Studios, and has not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, in line with the DG's drive to re-invent the BBC, the current summer mini-series of the arts series edited and presented by Alan has become 'imagine', so different from the 'Imagine' of yesteryear.
