Renaissance man and tv news presenter Huw Edwards can now put Ph.D on his captions if he wants; he's just completed a doctorate at Swansea University (top ranked in Wales) after seven years of part-time work.
Study started around the time Huw opened a cafe for Welsh speakers at the University back in 2011, in memory of his father, historian and Welsh-language-campaigner Hywel Teifi Edwards, who spent much of his academic career at Swansea. Huw went to Cardiff University, for a degree in French, and started post-graduate work on medieval French before being snagged by the lure of journalism.
