Overnight figures suggest 17.51m UK viewers were watching the Royal Wedding at the peak of 1305 - when bride and groom emerged from the Chapel and started their open coach ride. That compares with a 24m peak for William and Kate.
BBC One and ITV collectively had 16.56m, BBC News Channel 323k, Sky News 438k and Sky One 186k. ITV's coverage peaked later, at around 1410, ten minutes after the BBC launched three and a quarter hours of FA Cup preview.
Overall, the BBC averaged 8.66m between 8am and 2pm; ITV averaged 2.50m between 9.25am and 3pm.
