A wry smile from our prime public service broadcaster is possible this morning. Amazon Prime, home to Clarkson, May and Hammond, is putting up its prices next month - from $99 to $119 for an annual subscription. The UK rate hasn't been announced - it's currently £79 a year.
Meanwhile, the EU has decided that online services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime must carry 30% EU produced or financed content. (British indies and BBC Studios presumably won't qualify post-Brexit.)
