Congratulations to working-mum Liz Gibbons (Simon Balle School and St Edmund Hall, Oxford) on selection as the next editor of the all-human-angst-is-there Victoria Derbyshire Show on BBC2 and the BBC News Channel.
Liz was deputy editor of Newsnight in 2012 when she commissioned a piece about alleged abuse by a senior Conservative at a children's home in Wrexham - a grim piece of mistaken identity that brought the future of the programme into doubt. Since then she's been commissioning programmes for BBC Global News.
