Big regime change at Talkback Thames, part of the Fremantle Group, where Richard Holloway is stepping down. He's worked in commercial telly for over 50 years, leaving school at 16, and starting in the the ATV post room in 1966. His credits have ranged from Spitting Image to Pop Idol, New Faces to Play Your Cards Right, Blankety Blank to Sunday Night at the London Palladium.
He started X Factor in 2004 with Simon Cowell - last night he said “I’m incredibly proud to have been at the helm of Thames at a time when we created some of the most genre-defining shows in the history of British television and helped define the cultural zeitgeist for an entire generation.
“Sad as I am to be stepping down, I’m looking forward to embracing the many exciting challenges and opportunities ahead.”
Amelia Brown, for some time Holloway's co-producer on BGT and XFactor, steps up.
