Brendan

The SNP seat on the DCMS Select Committee, previously occupied by waspish tv presenter and dandy, John Nicolson, has gone to Brendan O’Hara, 51, the member for Argyll and Bute. He went to St. Andrew’s secondary school in Carntyne, then, after a period with Glasgow District Council, got a 2:1 in Economic History and Modern History from Strathclyde.

Before politics, Brendan was an indie tv producer - credits include Comedy Connections and Movie Connections (BBC1), The Football Years (STV), Scotland’s Greatest Album (STV), Road To Referendum (STV), That Was The Team That Was, and a 2005 documentary on the making of the BBC serialisation of I,Claudius. He's interested in football and social media.
