Lord Hall is lumping a lot on a 'more personalised BBC', and now the organisation seeks a Director of Customer Relationship Management. According to the job specification, the successful candidate will get a seat on the Executive Committee (which may be a mistake).
"The newly established function will require an inspirational leader with business acumen, understanding of technology, the ability to drive multi-skilled teams with a strong bias for execution and collaborative working. They will put the consumer/audience at the heart of everything they do."
They will have to know about "psychographic segmentation", and will get the tricky task of assessing "hard gating", which I take to mean blocking people from online access to programming if they can't prove they're covered by a licence fee.
