The 9pm tv drama battle brought the 10pm news bulletins much closer on Monday night.
On ITV, Liar was watched by an average of 5.31m, with the ITV news retaining 2.59m. On BBC1, the bewildering Rellik attracted 3.6m, with 3.57m watching the news that followed.
Good Morning Britain does seem to be gaining viewers - but not necessarily from BBC Breakfast. Monday's show was watched by an average of 796k. The share, at 20.8%, is nicely above the team's 17% target. BBC Breakfast returned 1.72m - a 41.1% share.
