There's more flesh on the BBC's plans to fund 138 "Local Democracy Reporters" today.
These will be employed by partner organisations across the UK (in bundles of up to 6) - and to qualify as a partner, applicants will have to demonstrate "a consistent level of contemporaneous coverage of all aspects of public institutions,
organisations and civic life, including councils and public bodies" and (I hope these are linked) "must already employ journalists trained to recognised standards with relevant experience."
That narrows things down pretty substantially.
