A reader notes that incoming Today editor Sarah Sands told
R4's Media Show yesterday she knew of no forthcoming budget cuts; didn't quite answer the question asking had she discussed it at interview; but "knew there was no largesse - after all it's taxpayers' money". Let's hope she gets an injection of licence fee-funded accuracy gene during the induction process.
On salary, she said she was taking a big pay cut - but again, seemed surprised that BBC salaries of over £150k are made public.
Here's an archive photo of Sarah being coached in microphone technique by former Today editor Phil Harding, looking slightly grumpy, at a Media Society/Press Club meeting at Northcliffe House back in 2014.
