BBC Chair Sir David Clementi is head down this month sorting out the wheat from the chaff in applications for non-executive jobs on the new unitary Board. Once the wheat has been identified, it will be milled and processed through a geographical and skills matrix, until a committee of the bland and affable has been assembled, in partnership with Lord Hall. (How many current Trustees and existing non-execs have the stamina for the new gig ?)
And then, at the end of the month, Sir David can look forward to presenting the Grade 7 and 8 Prizes at the second annual Clementi Piano Festival, to be held in great-great-grandfather's Muzio Clementi's music room in Kensington Church Street. Sadly, the instrument is a Danemann. You, too, can get in a bit of practice there, for £15 an hour.
