I understand the Sherpas have done their work, and the Himalayan Peak of Reformed Terms and Conditions of Service at the BBC is, on a clear day, in sight. Valerie Hughes D'Aeth, Duchess of HR, believes the working groups on mega-tricky issues like Unpredictability Allowances, Half Night Shifts, Meals Away From Base, Soft Shoe Allowances, etc have made progress and is moving forward to Negotiate With The Recognised Unions On A National Level.

Any suggestions that meetings have been called for half-term, in a bid to reduce attendance, is simply churlish.

Union leaders may like to contemplate Valerie's track record of success so far, as explained in this key slide presented to the HR Directors Summit in Birmingham last week.
