The talking up of Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain continues. ITV proudly let it be known that the show averaged 669,000 viewers in the five overnight ratings of last week. Monday's show averaged 722k. These are still a little behind the 800k average Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley were returning when they were officially fired in November 2011.
Meanwhile, the Eamonn Holmes publicity machine has been bigging up figures for Sunrise on Sky. It did record some figures over 300k in November, but seems to have settled back since. Eamonn has also been bigging up his current on-screen partner, Sarah-Jane Mee: “Personally, I think she is the best female operator on the telly. What’s really good about SJ is that, besides Ruth, she is the first co-presenter I’ve had who has been fully operational, and combat ready.
“Everybody else I’ve ever partnered has always had to be trained into the job, or needed an arm around the shoulder.
SJ doesn’t.”
All this will no doubt cheer Isabel Webster, currently on maternity leave from Sunrise.
