Ah, Wikipedia. And all other outlets.
The departing Barclays boss, Antony Jenkins is not from Stoke-on-Trent. But we'll have to quiz him further to get to the exact truth. This from The Sunday Times, February 2013.
"Jenkins has been struggling with a minor identity crisis since he took the top job. An article soon after he was promoted incorrectly claimed he came from Stoke-on-Trent. Although his father worked in the Potteries for a while, Jenkins grew up mostly in small towns in Lancashire and Cheshire. The Lord Mayor of Stoke was sadly let down when Jenkins wrote to inform him that his message of congratulations from the town had been misplaced."
