A look at the five Tories who've put themselves forward to next week's vote for the Chair of the Commons Culture Media & Sport Select Committee - and an additional £14,876 p.a.
Damian Collins, 41, MP for Folkestone and Hythe since 2010, (Belmont Abbey School, Herefordshire, and BA in Modern History, St Benet’s Hall, Oxford).
Damian worked for the Conservative Research Department from university, and eventually joined M & C Saatchi. Here's some copy from his website now....
He is married to Sarah and they have a daughter Claudia who was born in January 2007, and a son Hugo who was born in March 2009 and they live in Elham in Kent and in London. They all enjoy walking in the beautiful countryside around their home at Elham in the Elham Valley. Damian is also a keen sports fan, particularly football, cricket and rugby union. He enjoys cooking with seasonal local ingredients and supporting local independent shops and farmers markets.
And here's his YouTube pitch for the DCMS gig.
