South Yorkshire Chief Constable David 'Dismal' Crompton has handed in over 20 pages of emails, texts and notes to the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee - and, in his commentary, says that BBC reporter Dan Johnson twice stated that his information about an investigation into Sir Cliff Richard came from Operation Yewtree. That's in direct contradiction of Dan's boss, newsgathering head honcho Jonathan Munro, who says Johnson never revealed his source to police.
The first date we have is 17th July, with notes of a meeting between Johnson, South Yorks Head of Media Carrie Goodwin and Detective Superintendent Matt Fenwick; the search of Richard's flat came on 14th August. Committee chairman Keith Vaz has asked for any notes of the very first conversation between Johnson and the police on the matter, and wants to publish the whole lot (with some redactions) tomorrow.
